UWC Short Course in Swaziland
Together for development!
Young people from all over the world, highly motivated and engaged, debating important issues, learning from experts and each other, and preparing to take action – that is what UWC short courses are about. For 20 years, they have profoundly affected young people from all kinds of places and backgrounds.
Students gathered in the Middle East to discuss peace-building strategies, convened in Germany to talk about civil society, and came together in Brazil to debate sustainability. Now UWC short courses are coming to Africa - in January 2012 a campus in Swaziland will be transformed into a space of learning and innovation, populated by young changemakers from all over Southern Africa and the world.
“Together for Development!” is motto and mission. In a world where extreme poverty, shocking inequality and unfair exclusion persist, the need for change is clear. During the short course, 50 young people will acquire the skills and develop the ideas they need to become catalysts for positive change.
29/12/2011 - 14/01/2012, Waterford Kamhlaba United World College of Southern Africa
